Qassim University, a leading public university in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, has announced a one-year open access (OA) partnership with international academic publisher Taylor & Francis. This agreement marks a significant step in advancing the university’s goal to promote international knowledge exchange.
Under the partnership, Qassim University researchers will receive comprehensive support to choose OA for their research articles in hundreds of Taylor & Francis, Routledge, and Dove Medical Press journals. The agreement covers both hybrid and fully OA journals, ensuring researchers have access to a wide range of publishing options tailored to their needs.
The OA partnership is set to amplify Qassim University’s growing research influence and directly support its values of transparency, innovation and collaboration. Publishing new research openly will help Qassim researchers foster stronger connections with peers across disciplines and borders.
Prof. Waleed Albattah, Vice President for Graduate Studies and Scientific Research at Qassim University, said: “This agreement reflects Qassim University’s commitment to advancing open science and enhancing the global visibility and impact of our research. By enabling our researchers to publish their research open access in leading international journals, we are strengthening international collaboration, accelerating knowledge exchange, and supporting Saudi Vision 2030’s aspirations for a vibrant knowledge-based economy. We believe this partnership with Taylor & Francis will create valuable opportunities for our researchers to share high-quality research that helps address local and global challenges.”
Carolyn Kirby, Vice President & Commercial Lead at Taylor & Francis, said: “This new partnership introduces exciting opportunities for Qassim researchers to enhance the reach of their work, especially to readers beyond the academic community. Qassim University is rightly recognised for the quality of its research output, and our new agreement will help maximise the impact of this valuable knowledge in communities worldwide.”
