Prince of Songkla University (PSU), one of Thailand’s leading research institutions, has announced a new open access (OA) partnership with international publisher Taylor & Francis. This is PSU’s first ‘Read & Publish’ OA agreement that includes reading access to both journals and eBooks.
Under the agreement, PSU researchers will have the opportunity to publish OA articles in over 2,000 Taylor & Francis and Routledge Open Select (hybrid) journals. Each article will be freely accessible to readers worldwide.
The Read & Publish agreement also ensures PSU staff and students have continued access to a wealth of Taylor & Francis resources, including journals spanning the social sciences, medicine, science and technology, as well as hundreds of eBooks in key subjects.
The new partnership supports PSU’s commitment to the UN Sustainable Development Goals by ensuring groundbreaking research in areas such as education, medicine and industry can inform evidence-based policymaking and practice.
Ian Jones, VP and Commercial Lead at Taylor & Francis, said: “We share with our partners at Prince of Songkla University a belief in the power of knowledge to foster real-world progress. This open access agreement puts the exciting work of PSU’s leading researchers into the hands of everyone tackling today’s global challenges.”
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ophat Kaosaiyaporn, Director of KhunyingLong Athakravisunthorn Learning Resources Center at Prince of Songkla University, said: “The transformative agreement with Taylor & Francis is a strategic milestone that reinforces the university’s commitment to internationalization and academic excellence. By expanding open access publishing opportunities and providing comprehensive access to globally recognized scholarly publications, the agreement significantly contributes to research impact, academic reputation, and knowledge dissemination. This initiative not only supports improved performance in global university rankings but also ensures the sustainable integration of teaching, learning, and research in alignment with the university’s vision for global leadership”.
This agreement, the first of its kind for PSU, underlines the University’s commitment to making open access research a catalyst for sustainable development.
