Taylor & Francis appoints Ashok Subramanian as Chief Technology Officer

Taylor & Francis, a world-leading academic publisher and knowledge services provider, announces the appointment of Ashok Subramanian as Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and member of the Executive Leadership Team (ELT).
This strategic appointment marks a significant step in Taylor & Francis’s commitment to digital innovation in academic publishing. Subramanian will lead the Product and Technology teams, focusing on advancing the company’s digital infrastructure and enhancing its scholarly communication platforms.
With over two decades of technology leadership experience, Subramanian joins Taylor & Francis from Thoughtworks, where he progressed from Developer to SVP, Global Head of Technology. His expertise spans software development, Lean and Agile practices, data-driven product development, and enterprise IT design – skills crucial for advancing digital publishing solutions and research dissemination platforms.

Subramanian’s appointment represents a return to Taylor & Francis, where he previously contributed to the Cogent OA project. His understanding of both publishing dynamics and technological innovation makes him ideally suited to drive Taylor & Francis’s digital transformation initiatives and enhance its scholarly communication platforms.
